Joshua Geci
Hi, I'm Josh Geci — Director of the Media Cats, UC Merced's creative team under Enrollment Management. I work with an incredible group of student creators to bring our campus to life through storytelling, photography, and video — from recruitment campaigns to social content that celebrates what makes UC Merced unique. Before coming to UC Merced, I spent several years freelancing globally, producing content for organizations like Adidas, World Lacrosse, Major League Pickleball, and many universities, including Stanford, Arizona State, and the University of New Mexico. I also served as the Creative Director for an international music tour, leading visual storytelling across 30+ cities and helping the artist grow a global digital following. I've always loved building creative systems, mentoring upcoming talent, and crafting content that blends authenticity with strategy. I graduated from TCU's Neeley School of Business with a degree in Marketing, and outside of work, I'm usually exploring California, trying new recipes, or working on passion projects that keep my creativity sharp.

4th year Mechanical Engineering major from Merced, CA
Hi there! My name is Shayan Khan, and I'm a fourth-year Mechanical Engineering student here at UC Merced. As a Media Cat, I work to bring information about UC Merced activities, events, and the atmosphere closer to people on and off campus through multimedia productions such as short-form content, feature-length videos, and graphics. In my spare time, I work with UC Merced's SAE and AIAA teams on exciting engineering projects like our school's first-ever all-electric racecar and a student-built rocket that will fly at speeds over the speed of sound! You also might see me riding around campus on my motorcycle, and if you do, come say what's up!

Hey Bobcats! I’m Gigi Tijamo, a first-year Communications and Media major. As a Content Creator for the Media Cats, I create videos that highlight all the amazing aspects of UC Merced, such as campus festivities, club events, panels, mixers, etc! There’s always something new to see or do at this school. When I’m not with the Media Cats, I’m usually watching movies, playing video games, or on the court with the women’s volleyball team! I can’t wait to see what the rest of my years look like here at UC Merced.

Hi! I'm Elly Vang, and I'm a first-year majoring in Communications and Media. I chose UC Merced because of its countless opportunities and dedication to its students. I'm extremely excited for the next few years here at UC Merced. With Media Cats, I manage our social media accounts and am constantly coming up with new ideas to capture UC Merced's unique culture and student life. I also love to work creatively with content creation and graphic design. During my personal time, I enjoy baking and spending time with loved ones!

2nd Year Computer Science and Engineering major from Rocklin, CA
Hello! I'm Rajit Lal, and I am a second-year Computer Science and Engineering student at UC Merced. As the Web Content Designer, I work with the Enrollment Management team and the Media Cats to keep the university's web pages clean, up to date, and visually on point. I focus on layout and content, making sure everything looks the way it should. During my free time, I love to practice my drumming, spend time with friends, and play video games.
